Mitigation, Assessment & Contacting Us

The support information below aims to outline guidelines for Contacting Us, Mitigating Circumstances and Assessment. We would advise that if you are experiencing difficulties to seek support as soon as possible by seeing a relevant member of staff at your next session. We are here to help, so do get in contact us.



Regarding your studies, if you wish to seek Tutors’ advise,  please see your Unit Leader before and after scheduled sessions. This is in preference to emailing Academic questions.

If anything urgent arises, i.e.Issues of health, personal matters, that effect your attendance) please email or call Jackie Andrew and Natalie Holmes in the Campus Registry Office, for the School of Film & Media.

Please make a note of the application procedures for Mitigating Circumstances. Read carefully the ‘Mitigating Circumstances – Guidance Notes for Students’, which set out on the application form MCF1. It is your responsibility to read the Student Regulations, these  can can access by this link.

1) Students complete form MCF1 on MyUCA. (Evidence must be submitted)

2) Student meets with Unit Leader about case and extension, unit leader fills in date and initials next to it

  • RPHHC4001 Object & Body – Unit Leader: Jonathan Simms
  • RPHHC4002 Commission – Unit Leader: Steffi Klenz
  • RPHHC4003 Contextual Studies – Unit Leader: Francis Summers

3) Student hands in form to either Jackie Andrew or Natalie Holmes in the Campus Registry Office, for the School of Film & Media

4) Course Leader, Heike Lowenstein,  will consider claim in accordance with the University’s regulations, student and tutors are then informed of decision and outcome
